Choose bookkeepz if you take insurance and want EOB-level reconciliation, run a group practice and want supervisee splits and associate pay tracked in depth, have or plan to have more than one owner (which Heard's site states they do not serve), want your books in your own QuickBooks Online account, or want your tax return prepared by a named, licensed CPA firm, PizzelloCPA, PLLC, rather than a bundled service tier.

Starter is from $199 per month and covers monthly transaction categorization, bank and credit card reconciliation, a monthly P&L and balance sheet, tax-ready books, and client portal access.
Grow is from $349 per month and adds enhanced financial reports, receivables and payables tracking, quarterly review meetings, a custom chart of accounts, and year-end tax prep support.
Surge is custom-priced and adds a licensed CPA’s review of every monthly deliverable by PizzelloCPA, PLLC, monthly review meetings, a live financial dashboard, cash flow forecasting, priority support, and multi-entity support.
CPA review is included only in Surge. Tax preparation and filing are a separate engagement with PizzelloCPA, PLLC, an affiliated licensed CPA firm, because bookkeepz is not a CPA firm and does not provide attest services.
The QuickBooks Online subscription is not included in any package. The client pays Intuit directly, and clients who start a new QuickBooks subscription through us get our ProAdvisor discount on it.
Packages are billed monthly with no long-term contract and can be cancelled with 15 days’ notice. Mental health practices can request a Business Associate Agreement.

No, and this page will not tell you it is. For a solo, cash-pay therapist who wants bookkeeping and tax filing on one bill, Heard is a reasonable choice. The differences that matter are structural: where your books live, whether your practice has more than one owner, and who signs your tax return.

What happens to my books if I leave each service?
With bookkeepz, nothing, because the books already live in your own QuickBooks Online subscription, so you keep clean, portable records. Leaving any platform-based service means asking what you can export and in what format. Whatever provider you choose, ask that question before you sign.
Can bookkeepz handle my taxes like Heard does?
